Julia Zoeller of Pittsburgh

1860 - Born in September, presumably in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Phillip Georg and Margaret (Keinert) Zoeller.

 

   -- Never married.

 

1900 - Was residing in her parents' home at age 39 at the time of the US Census. Had no occupation.

 

Obituary, 1947

1906 - Living in Pittsburgh at the death of her father. In December, signed her name as a witness to her mother's affidavit, part of the application to receive the father's Civil War pension.

 

1910 - Living in Pittsburgh at the death of her mother. She received half of her mother's household goods and furniture, with her sister Margaret receiving the other half.

1930 - When the federal census was taken, she made her home with her brother Bernard and his wife Margaret (Graham) Zoeller on Oak Road in Pittsburgh. Also in their household were unmarried niece Hazel (age 32) and single sister Margaret Zoeller (age 70). Bernhard's occupation was listed as "repairman - leather belts." Daughter Hazel's employment was given as "stenographer - office."

1947 - Nov. 3 – died at age 87. Her obituary in the Pittsburgh Press said she was the “sister of Jacob Zoeller of Reading, O., and the late Bernhard Zoeller of Pittsburgh, Pa.” Funeral held at Beinhauer Mortuary, 2630 W. Liberty Avenue. Buried at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Oliver.

 

   -- Named unmarried niece Hazel E. Zoeller as executrix of her estate. See Allegheny County, PA, Proceedings Index 67, page 250.
