Dec. 2015 - A newly released case study features insights from Joseph Nobile, former COO of Northern States Metals, a Youngstown, Ohio aluminum extrusion manufacturer which re-invented its business, became a solar power industry leader and achieved five-fold growth. Nov. 18, 2015 - Miner serves as master of ceremonies for the Beaver Area Heritage Museum's reception for 2015 corporate sponsors. In his remarks, he tells sponsors that their unrestricted gifts help in three strategic ways -- 1.) by helping the trustees focus on their "main thing" and not be chasing donations; 2.) by being financially self-sustaining and independent at a time when the parent organization is undertaking other large investments at the Beaver Station Cultural & Events Center; and 3.) growing the permanent endowment by taking less of an amount from the annual year-end payout, thus allowing more to be rolled over into principal.

Oct. 24, 2015 - In his fifth and final year as chairman of the board of trustees of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, it was Miner's privilege to present a short "year in review" report during the annual Charter Day Dinner for 117 guests, the first formal event and the first sit-down dinner to be held at the newly renovated, $2.7 million Beaver Station Cultural and Events Center.

Oct. 21, 2015 - WelcomePittsburgh, the information center and gift shop of VisitPittsburgh in Fifth Avenue Place downtown, now stocks copies of Miner's book Forged in Steel to help guests make the most of their Pittsburgh experience. Nov. 14, 2012 - Miner is re-elected to a three-year term on the board of directors of Malin Bergquist Charities, Inc., a charitable foundation he helped to found and which aims to eliminate cancer and its side effects by funding research and education, and providing direct patient care. November 2012 - Miner is mentioned in the acknowledgements section of a new book by retired National Geographic reporter and editor Priit Vesilind, entitled Our Book: Growing Up in Beaver, Class of 1960, the definitive account of growing up in a small Western Pennsylvania hometown community during the era of the 1950s. Much of the volume was researched in the collections and archives of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, of which Miner chairs the board of trustees.

July 1, 2012 - Rob Pratte of NewsRadio 1020 KDKA interviews Miner and Heinz History Center CEO Andy Masich about the Civil War battle of Gettysburg during "Black and Gold Sunday" -- live for two hours from Kuhn's Market in Hopewell Township in Aliquippa, PA -- along with Ted Arneault, former CEO of Mountaineer Casino and Race Track and Frank Dawson of the Lou Holtz Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame in East Liverpool, Ohio. They also discuss plans for the renovation of Beaver Station as well as lessons about the power of deliberate practice from Miner's new book, co-authored with Tunch Ilkin and Damian Williams, entitled Forged in Steel: The Seven Time-Tested Leadership Values of the Pittsburgh Steelers. June 28, 2012 - The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette quotes Miner and David O'Leary, of the Train Station Committee of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation and Museum, in a prominent story about a $25,000 grant received from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for use in renovating the vacant "Beaver Station" building and highlights of the museum's new "Civil War" exhibit. May 9, 2012 - In the third major review in recent months, Jack Trammell of America's Civil War magazine writes a review about Miner's book, Well At This Time, saying that it "does a solid job bringing together diverse pieces of information to paint a picture..." and that soldier Ephraim Miner's "voice does come through, in large part because [the author] has done his homework and walks readers through Ephraim's experience.... May 2, 2012 - In remarks at the spring meeting of the German American Business Circle of Pittsburgh, Miner presents a gift to the special guest speaker, The Hon. Busso von Alvensleben, Consul General for the Federal Republic of Germany in the United States, and also welcomes Hon. Rich Fitzgerald,Allegheny County Executive. April 2012 - A lengthy review of Miner's book Well At This Time, written by military historian David Neville in the Spring edition of the Western Pennsylvania History magazine of the Senator John Heinz History Center (an associate of the Smithsonian Institution), concludes that: ... one will not find stirring accounts of battle, but entries that describe day-to-day life of a young man who continued to serve his country despite being hobbled by illness and a battle injury... April 24, 2012 - The "Civil War in Pennsylvania" exhibit at the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, in a historic inaugural partnership with the Senator John Heinz History Center, an associate of the Smithsonian Institution, closes after a four-week display, having set all-new records for attendance, door donations and gift shop sales. Miner serves as chairman of the museum's board of trustees.

April 5, 2012 - Miner and the trustees of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum host a reception for 70 volunteers, corporate supporters and donors to officially launch the "Civil War in Pennsylvania" display -- featuring remarks by CEO Andy Masich of the Senator John Heinz History Center and Jack Bechdel of local corporate sponsor Eaton Corporation. Jan. 24, 2012 - The American Cancer Society's Pittsburgh Unit appoints Miner to its executive committee in his role as chairman of the marketing committee.

Nov. 10, 2011 – On behalf of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, Miner accepts a $500 check from the Beaver County Foundation, presented by Charles “Chick” O’Data, as a donation from the foundation’s 2011 Ben Franklin Award winner Thomas J. Bryan III, owner of Tri-State River Products.

March 27, 2011 - The Beaver County Times quotes Miner in a front-page story, "Museum Obtains Decades of Old Newspapers," continued on an inside full page, about the museum's acquisition of Times newspapers providing "a comprehensive record of 46 years of day-to-day life in Beaver County..." March 14, 2011 - As a member of the Train Station Committee of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation, Miner makes a presentation at a quarterly general membership meeting on the reasons why the organization should play a driving role in the renovation of the former Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad passenger station in Beaver, now a vacant property.

March 13, 2011 - Miner is named in the Beaver County Times by columnist Gino Piroli, in his role as chairman of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum. Piroli writes: "I especially envy one group, the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation, because it has had success in keeping alive the history of the town."  Unlike other local museums, he says, the Heritage Foundation "has a permanent home near the former Beaver train station and offers programs throughout the year as well as exhibits and documents on different subjects related to the town." Jan. 14, 2011 - At a performance of "Death and Taxes," a murder mystery dinner theatre event in Greensburg sponsored by Malin Bergquist Charities, Inc., Miner serves as master of ceremonies.

Jan. 11, 2011 - Miner is elected chairman of the board of trustees of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum. He enters his eighth year as a trustee of the museum.
